Are my communications with Inhouse AI protected by attorney-client privilege?

It depends on your plan.

If you use the Free plan or AI-Associate plan, you are interacting with an AI-powered platform rather than directly with an attorney. Conversations on these plans are not protected by attorney-client privilege.

If you upgrade to Inhouse Counsel, all of your legal AI chats are privileged from the moment you upgrade. The plan also includes a monthly consultation with a licensed lawyer, who reviews your request before meeting with you to discuss your matter and walk you through what to do next.

What does this mean for me?

On the Free and AI-Associate plans, you can use the legal AI to ask questions, better understand legal issues, and draft, edit, review, or redline legal documents. However, you should keep in mind that these conversations are not privileged.

With Inhouse Counsel, your legal AI chats are privileged, giving you additional protection when discussing sensitive legal matters. You also receive monthly support from a licensed lawyer and access to discounted member rates if you need additional legal work.

Members on the legacy Lawyer-Backed Plus plan ($499/month) also receive privileged Inhouse chats.
