How do I request a refund?
Learn about our 24-hour satisfaction guarantee, what's refundable, and how to request a refund.
New Inhouse subscribers can get a full refund within 24 hours of their first subscription purchase if they are unsatisfied with our legal AI or their experience. After that, subscription fees are non-refundable, except in a few specific cases listed below. To request a refund, email support@inhouse.ai.
How do I request a refund?
Email support@inhouse.ai and include:
- Your account email address
- The charge or charges in question
- A brief description of why you're requesting a refund
We aim to respond to all refund requests within two business days.
Can I get a refund if I'm a new subscriber and not satisfied?
Yes. If you're a new Inhouse subscriber and aren't satisfied with the service, you can cancel your subscription and request a full refund within 24 hours of your initial subscription purchase. Email support@inhouse.ai within that 24-hour window.
If you are granted a refund, your account will immediately be downgraded back to the free, limited legal AI version.
This 24-hour satisfaction guarantee applies only to your first subscription purchase. It does not apply to:
- Subscription renewals or auto-renewals
- Plan upgrades or downgrades
- Additional purchases, such as extra consultation hours
- Any account that has already received a satisfaction guarantee refund
Can I get a refund after the 24-hour window?
No. After the 24-hour window, subscription fees are non-refundable. The only exceptions are billing errors, an additional consultation Inhouse can't fulfill, and Inhouse ending your subscription for a reason other than a Terms of Service violation. Each is explained below.
If I cancel my subscription, do I get a refund for the rest of the month?
No. You can cancel at any time in your Account settings, and you'll keep access through the end of your current billing period. No prorated refunds or credits are issued for unused time left in a billing period.
Can I get a refund for an auto-renewal charge?
No. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before your renewal date. Auto-renewal charges are non-refundable, so be sure to cancel before your renewal date if you don't want to continue. You can manage your subscription and cancel renewals at any time in your Account settings.
Can I get a refund or credit for a consultation I didn't use?
No. Consultations and other monthly benefits included in your plan are use-it-or-lose-it. If you don't schedule or attend your consultation in a given billing month, it expires at the end of that month. Unused consultations don't roll over to future months and aren't eligible for refunds, credits, or account extensions.
This applies no matter why the consultation wasn't used, including scheduling conflicts, forgetting to book, or choosing not to use it.
Can I get a refund for an additional consultation I purchased?
The $149 additional consultation is non-refundable. If Inhouse can't fulfill an additional consultation you purchased (for example, because an attorney is unavailable or we made a scheduling error), you'll receive a full refund of the $149 charge.
What if I was charged by mistake?
If you think you were charged in error, such as a duplicate charge or an incorrect amount, email support@inhouse.ai with your account email address and a description of the issue. We'll investigate, and if we confirm a billing error, we'll refund the incorrect charge in full. We aim to resolve billing error inquiries within 2 business days.
Do I get a refund if the service goes down?
No. We work hard to keep Inhouse reliable, but we don't guarantee the service will be available at all times. Temporary service interruptions, scheduled maintenance, downtime, or technical issues don't qualify for a refund, credit, or discount. For details, see Section 9 (No Warranty) of our Terms of Service.
Do I get a refund if my account is terminated?
- If Inhouse terminates your account for a Terms of Service violation: no refund is issued.
- If Inhouse terminates your subscription for any other reason: you'll receive a prorated refund of any prepaid fees for the rest of your current billing period.
- If you cancel your own subscription: the standard cancellation terms apply. You keep access through the end of your billing period, with no prorated refund.
What happens if I dispute a charge with my bank?
If you dispute a charge with your bank or credit card company (a chargeback), we may suspend your account until the dispute is resolved. Starting a chargeback doesn't entitle you to keep using the service while the dispute is pending. Please contact support@inhouse.ai first. We'd rather work with you to resolve the issue directly.
